Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

i like black head

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

SORT OF

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

No, a blackhead dirt clogging the pore and will become a pimple. An ingrown hair is a hair that curls up inside and does not come through the surface of the pore. It can cause inflammation, swelling and infection.

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

eh..i think sort of, but a black head forms with dirt in a pore that is already there, and an ingrown hair makes itself room to grow in..gross!

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

NO, BLACKHEAD IS DIRT, INGROWN HAIR IS WHEN YOU GUYS SHAVE, AND ONE STAYS BEHIND AND FORMS A PUS LIKE WHITE SPOT WITH THE HAIR INSIDE.

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

No. A blackhead is essentially dirt and oil in a pore, that has clogged up. If bacteria starts to grow beneath the clog, a pimple will develop.

An ingrown hair is a hair that has turned around into a U shape and is growing back INTO the skin. It can be caused by shaving too close or without a sharp enough blade.

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

No. And to the poster who told you a blackhead is dirt and oil clogging a pore, that is INCORRECT! A blackhead is merely a whitehead that has turned black with oxidization.

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

No, a blackhead is dirt and oil and ingrown is a hair that has grown under the skin.

Is a blackhead the same thing as a ingrown hair?

No, it isn't.

A blackhead (technically known as an open comedo) is a yellowish or blackish bump or plug on the skin. It is caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous gland's duct. Blackheads are typically caused by excessive oil and makeup. While the contents inside may look dark, it is not dirt; the substance found in these bumps mostly consists of keratin and modified sebum (an oily secretion of the sebaceous gland)

Possible factors that cause blackheads include :

- Excess dead cells blocking the opening to the pore

- Excess production of facial oil

- Improper cleansing routine, facial oil not being removed

- Excess scrubbing of the skin (Scrubs)

- Use of products/makeup (foundations, sunscreens, and moisturizers) that may contain too much oil

- Use of low quality facial cleansing products

An ingrown hair is exactly what it sounds like - a hair that hasn't protruded outside of the hair follicle, but keeps growing inside the follicle instead. There are no specific proven causes of this, and it can cause pain and inflammation. If so, it needs to be treated by a doctor.
