How do I get rid of several ingrown hairs on my bikini line left over from getting it waxed?

Ive had several waxings and never had a problem, i went to the same place i always do for the last one. (it had been a few months since i had one though) and it seems like every single hair down there is ingrown now. its kind of sore too.

why would that happen? it was professionally done, by the same person who did it numerous times before... i dont understand

i tried some of the hair removal lotion and i think it helped a little, but im still covered in little red dots. what do i do?

How do I get rid of several ingrown hairs on my bikini line left over from getting it waxed?

Sorry to hear about this. After the waxing, a post-wax product should've been used to reduce the amount of irritation. How long after the waxing was the depilatory used? This could have caused further irritation, making the bumps bigger and more painful. As long as you've put no other product on your area in the last 48 hours do the following to help alleviate your situation:

using a loofah, washcloth, bath poofie, etc cleanse the area and lightly rub the loofah, washcloth, etc to the area. This will remove the dead skin over the follicle to allow the hair to come above skin level (no longer being ingrown). Dry the area and remove any of the small hairs with tweezers. Be sure to hold the skin tight when removing the hairs. After all the hairs have been plucked, smooth the area with a post-wax product containing tea tree oil or another post-wax care product. Don't go tanning or use an fragranced lotion in the area for the next 48 hours. In the future, the day before your waxing exfoliate the area by using a loofah, washcloth, etc. Good luck.

How do I get rid of several ingrown hairs on my bikini line left over from getting it waxed?

Get in the shower, and get some warm water going. Get a loofah, and GENTLY rub the area. If you do this every day, or every other day, the ingrowns should work their way out. All it is, is that you just have some skin that hasn't been sloughed off, and it's preventing the hair from growing out. Don't try anything abrasive, but just use a loofah, and after a while, they'll grow out.

What is the remedy for ingrown hairs on your legs?

My daughter who is 13 has these bumps on her legs and when we popped them there was hair attached, so I am assuming this is what you call "ingrown hair".

What is the remedy for ingrown hairs on your legs?

One of the best treatments around is Tend Skin for ingrown hairs. You can also use a special pointed tweezer to remover the trapped hairs.

What is the remedy for ingrown hairs on your legs?

Yup. Seems pretty accurate. More so especially if she had shaved her legs before.

Not a big issue, just rub some petroleum jelly and she'll be fine.

What is the remedy for ingrown hairs on your legs?

Yes it does sound like ingrown hairs. If she is shaving/waxing her legs she should use a moisturiser after doing so then exfoliate to remove the dead layers of skin when she showers or bathes. Picking at the little bumps can cause infections (although it is rare).

There is a product called Ingrown Gold, I know people swear by it. It opens the follicle allowing the hair to grow out straight. It also has antibacterial properties, and is helpful in repairing damaged skin. I'm not sure if this is allowed but I'll post the link to the product below

For the in grown hairs, try apple cider vinegar. It really smells, but put some on a cotton ball/pad and wipe the face and neck. Let it sit for a few seconds and then wash off with warm water and pat dry. Follow up with an oil free moisturizer. I would do it before he goes to bed because it can make his face red.

It's natural and it works for me. I also have cystic acne.

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

Everytime I shave I get pretty bad ingrown hairs in my underarms. They get worse everytime I shave because of course the razor must irritate them. My hair is also pretty thick. I have a good razor, the venus breeze and I don't know why this happens. How can i reduce the bumps?

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

Hey, shaving can irritate your skin espesh sensetive areas like underarms and thus lead to ingrown hairs, I personally epilate as it lasts longer with smooth results. Then gently exfoliate the skin and finish off with a mousturising roll on and that does the trick, so my advice? ditch the blade however good it is and invest in an epilator 25-40 quid but well worth it in the long run saving on blades and shaving cremes etc and it gives WAY better results. x x

good luck

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

The only solution is to wax. I can't shave my armpits for that reason, really bad ingorwn hairs. Let your hair grow out and trim it a little, then wax it. It should be clear.

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

I use Skintimate shaving gels and creams on my underarms and legs and I wouldn't use anything else. They have different scents and formulas. Just wet the skin, put it on, let it set a few minutes and then shave. It reduced irritation a lot for me, especially on the underarms. I can't guarantee it for you, however. Good luck!

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

You may consider using some hair removal creams, some of these creams also putt off growing hairs.

How can I get rid of ingrown hairs in armpits?

see your doctor

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

i've just noticed i've got a sore lump in my bottom area, its not that close to the bottom hole and i can't actually see anything so it must be normal coloured... Could it be an ingrown hair or herpes?

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

Don't fret or take advise from all the scare mongers. It's probably just an ingrown hair. You don't need to shave to get them. Hairs fall out and new ones grow all the time. You are just unfortunate to get one in that particular area. Perhaps you should exfoliate the area to get rid of the dead skin that may be blocking the new hairs from coming through properly.

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

not herpes. maybe a zit. have someone look at it..eewwhhhhh. could be a boil

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

U can get ingrown hairs anywhere that you have hair folicals...

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

Probl'y just an *** pimple.

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

Fu**k you sure are descriptive!!! Ya you can in grow some hair in on your asss!!! If you shave constantly. Good luck! Man that is SICK!

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

eew.I'm assuming you can get an ingrown if u shave your buttocks.I've never heard of herpes in the anal area, but it's possible..

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

Keep the area clean and as sterile as possible. We have staff infection in our bodies, and it can be devastating if you develope it, because it's so catchy and can be hard to manage. If you have a question see a doctor. If you can't get in for a month, go to a walk-in clinic. You need to know what's causing this, because it doesn't sound right.

Can u get ingrown hairs in ur butt?

A sore lump? It's probably haemorroids. It's a sore baloon of blood people get inside or around their butt. Get it checked out.

Many red spots and ingrown hairs?

ever since i finished my accutane treatment i have been getting many red spots on my skin that are very visable especially after i shave. along with this i have many ingrown hairs that become uncomfortable and unsightly. even more, after i shave it still looks like i have hair still to shave but my skin is smooth. what should i do and whats going on?

Many red spots and ingrown hairs?

Those little red spots are the beginning of ingrown hair. What you need to do is exfoliate them with a soothing scrub (not chemical) as it will cause more damage than good. Go to a healthfood store and see if they can give you a honey almond scrub which you applied in a pat and in circular motions work into the areas with the spots %26amp; ingrown hair. You may have to do this at least once a week.

Many red spots and ingrown hairs?

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.

Here is a link :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...

If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.

Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!

I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don閳ユ獩 have to wait as long as I did.

Many red spots and ingrown hairs?

Exfoliate

Use a gentile exfoliant every day to remove built up dead skin cells that can clog the surface of your skin and trap hair, causing it to become ingrown. Exfoliating pads, loofahs, and mild scrubs work well. Look for cleansers that contain Salicylic acid.

Witch Hazel is a fantastic remedy !!! But only apply as needed.

For razor burn and razor bumps, pat the effected area with apple cidar vinegar.

Simply put aloe vera on the effected area. This also helps with razor bumps.

Baby rash cream works wonders. After u shave rub some on.

=)

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

IN ALL MY HAIR FOLLICES I HAVE 2 OR 3 HAIRS GROWING OUT OF EACH LITTLE HOLE!! IT ONLY HAPPENS IN VAG REGION? IS THIS WHY I AM ALWAYS RED AND HAVING INGROWN HAIRS AFTER I SHAVE? DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS TOO OR HAVE SEEN IT AND KNOW WHAT TO DO OR IF ITS NORMAL?

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

Hair naturally grows that way; 2 to 3 hairs per follicle. You probably just don't notice it on other places of your body because the hairs are smaller, thiner, and harder to see. What is causing ingrown hairs is that you are shaving them. By shaving them, you are nipping the hair from the surface of your skin, and part of the hair is still down in the skin. Since you didn't get rid of the hair down in the skin (as you would with nair or wax which dissolve or pulls the hair out, respectively) the hair starts curling in on itself . So, switch to a different method than shaving and you'll be ok. What I do is use nair and since my hair down there is extremely thick and nair doesn't always completely remove all of it, I will use a bran new, very sharp razor to get rid of whatever hair remains. For some reason, new sharp razors don't cause ingrown hair as much.

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

yeah I get that too! put Lotion on it after words do that every day after showers and it should get better.

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

It is normal. Its better to find another way of hair removal down there, or make sure u exfoliate really well before and after shaving. You can also buy cream that helps stop ingrown hairs forming and cream that removes them.

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

thats sick do you think we really want to know that

Is this why I have ingrown hairs ( down there)?

That is completely normal. They say to never use nair on your nether regions unless it is on the bikini line. If you shave with the grain the redness is usually not that bad, make sure to use lotion afterwords and that should minimise your problem

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

i wanna buy an epilator to get rid of the hair on my legs and arms but i've heard that you can get a lot of ingrown hairs. is there an easy way to get rid of ingrown hairs? can anyone who owns/uses an epilator tell me about their experiences with them?

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

once using an epilator use something with salicylic acid and apply it over the area. this will help get rid of the dead skin cells, preventing pores from getting clogged. hence your hairs will grow straight and no more ingrown hairs!

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

get laser done, the hairs will be gone permanently.

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

Use tweezers. Otherwise, they get infected.

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

its the shampoo and conditioner that you use that is not revitalizing your hair like it should. Here, you should try the artistry line products on this site. Me and my wife and mother uses it and have never had a problem

order it off of this website

How do you get rid of or prevent ingrown hairs?

when you get waxed they tell you to exfoliate after you have it done because it helps prevent ingrown hairs. you need to get a rough loofa/towel and scrub with epsion salt. if you have an ingrown you can squeeze it like a pimple(i know that it sounds gross) until the hair breaks the surface, then use tweezers to remove it.

sorry never used an epilator but the above info works.

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

i have a lot of ingrown hair on my body and i really want to get rid of it...how can i do that?

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

An ingrown hair is when the follicle gets blocked and the hair cannot push itself through, resulting in a tiny pimple. Although if the bumps you are getting on your arms and legs are red and look like pimples they may in fact be Keratosis. Which is a follicular condition. It is most common on the back and outside of arms as well as legs. It produces keratin which is a natural protein in the skin, and it blocks the follicle which causes the red bumps. It affects 40-50% of adults and 50-80% of adolescence.

There is no cure as of yet,but there are some treatments which may help minimize them. For some people they go away with age, while others have well into adult hood.

Scratching and picking causes them to redden (if they do not already appear red), and in many cases will cause bleeding. Excessive picking can lead to scarring. Wearing clothing that is looser around the affected areas can also help reduce the marks, as constant chafing from clothing (such as tight fitting jeans) is similar to repeatedly scratching the bumps.

Many bumps contain an ingrown hair that has coiled. This is a result of the keratinized skin "capping off" the hair follicle, preventing the hair from exiting. Instead, the hair grows inside the follicle, often encapsulated, and can be removed, much like an ingrown hair, though can lead to scarring.

Your best option is to see a Dermatologist, they might be able to give you more information on what you can do to reduce them. You can try a milk bath and moisturizer, although they are temporary fixes and will not completely remove them.

Hope this helps

you are using an old razor huh?

you have to change your razor every 3-4 weeks

the dull blade causes ingrown hairs to grow

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

that happens to me too. tell me when you get an answer!

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

DO NOT PICK THEM, DO NOT USE TWEEZERS, DO NOT TOUCH THEM

- This is sooooooooo important, they will get infected if you do

Use an exfoliating shower gel or one of those poofy shower gel foamer ball things every time you shower. They ingrown ones will disappear in time and exfoliating will prevent any more.

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

Start exfoliating before you shave. Lay a warm, damp washcloth on the area to draw the hair out. Shave DOWNWARD.

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

Use lotion. You get ingrown hairs when the hair is unable to grow up out of the skin and it curls and starts growing inward. Then they become infected. Keep you skin soft and they can get through easier.

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

Just google your question.....

This morning I googled "How do I wipe my ***".......

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

I use to suffer from ingrown hairs as well and it was not fun. Ingrown hairs are a direct result improper shaving, waxing, or tweezing techniques. As a result, your body has produced an inflammatory response, which is the bumps that you see. The infected areas are often itchy and can spread quickly.

I would suggest that you try Beauty 4 Ashes Hair Bump Destroying solution. It worked miracles for me and my husband. It contains no alcohol. So it won't sting your skin. It also is all-natural and smells great. Check out their website is www.discoverb4a.com.

have you changed the direction that you shave? try taking and pulling your skin up toward your belly button and shave down or side ways. i never get bumps or ingrown hairs.

Vaginal area.ingrown hairs..Bumps??

Cahnge your razor. I may not be sharp enough or get a razor designed for this area. If you get "bumps" just let them grow out for a few days and try again. (The hair actually grows in a circle and "stqabs" back into the skin. Thus, shaving bumps! If you let them grow out, they pull themselves out.) Good Luck!

One, change the sirection in which you commonly shave and two, use neosporin not mosturizer afterwards (often a well-held secret of the porn industry).

PLEASE!! Anyways I can get rid of them...????

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

They're not genital warts.

See a doctor to have them removed.

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Go to a doctor if your not sure

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Go see a doctor immediately. You need to make sure that whatever it is isn't contagious. If it is a skin condition, it may spread to other places on your body, so go get it checked out as soon as you can! 6 months is a long time to wait!

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Ingrown hairs don't stick around for that long, no. If you pick at them, they do go kind of like open sores, though.

Condoms don't protect you from genital warts very effectively. You should definately get tested or something.

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Sounds like foliculitus, an infection of the hair folicles. This can be caused by a bacterial infection that will require antibiotic to clear up. I had this a few years ago, all down the back of my arms and legs. My doctor was able to help clear it up. Contact your doctor and if he/she can not help you please see a dermatologist. Good luck!

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Sounds like a skin irritation to me. Do you do a lot of running or excercising? One thing to try and I know this sounds somewhat gruesome, but open the top of one and apply a creme such as neosporene. Use a q-tip when applying and see what happens after a few days to the treated area. If it doesn't clear up, go and see a dermatoligist asap.

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

if they are little red dot like growths then you probably have mulluscum contagiosum. Yes they can be spreed through sexual contact and the virus can live outside the body on such things as razors. They area form of warts but not the same as genital warts and yes you will have to go to a Doctor to get them treated. This is a common virus with children as well so it is contracted outside of sexual contact but please seek a medical opinion.

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Yea it's probably foliculitis. No biggie. Just little bacterial hitchikers. A good topical antibacterial will clear it up. Don't mess with it though. Get it taken care of.

Do i have warts or ingrown hairs or genital warts WHAT!?

Try some benadrile or ask your doctor for some diflukin. The benadrile for allergy. diflukin for fungus be careful of doctors thou their just out to make money

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

I have dark brown hair. On the inner side of my calves, my hair is thicker and visible under the skin even after I shave. I also get ingrown hairs because the hair is thicker in that area. I've used wax, an epilady, and creams but nothing seems to work! The ingrown hairs are what really bothers me. I also get them in my uhm...groin area. Yikes! Help!

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

If you have curly hair on your head, you would naturally tend to grow curly hair in other places of the body as well. There are a few things you can do to help avoid ingrown hairs, though. First of all, be sure you are shaving with a very sharp new razor, and if you can - a single blade. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it, so you cut the hair flush with the skin surface. Secondly, avoid wearing pantyhose and definitely not hose under pants. Try to avoid tight fitting pants, which also interferes with the way the hair grows out and tends to rub hair and break it. Another thing that can help is a scrub mitt, used daily during bathing. It can sort of grab onto the end of a hair and help encourage it to grow outwards as opposed to inwards. The hair is simply more visible because the skin inside the thighs tends to be paler, and there is nothing you can really do about that. You can try using dipilatory creams to remove the hair from below the surface for a smoother look, but will still eventually see the hair when it gets regrown closer to the surface of the skin. Mostly, avoid tight fitting clothing and use the scrub mitt all over. You can also use a body scrub with "bits", either sugar or apricot type, to help as well- but the mitt is cheaper and works as well. A side benefit of it is smoother skin all over, not just avoiding the ingrowns.

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

regular exfoliation - the process is not only great for ingrown hairs - it's excellent for the skin in general

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

Scrub before you shave...... first just the loofah thing ( using extra moisturizer type shower gel) then use St. Ives apricot scrub or whatever you prefer that's the same nature.... and then you can shave..... I had bunch of hair bumps on like my thighs and constant scrubbing is the only way to get the hair to come out so you can actually shave it..... assuming of course that your condition is similar to that of mine....

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

Keeping yourself clean and the hairs short should help. They can't turn around and repenetrate your skin if they remain too short to make the turn.

Does anyone have any suggestions about preventing ingrown hairs?

A proper shaving technique will prevent ingrown facial hair. First, don閳ユ獩 shave so close the next time you put a razor to your face or your crotch. Leave a little hanging. Second, don閳ユ獩 shave against the grain of your hair growth. This applies to all areas of hair growth, including your legs. Third, and finally, don閳ユ獩 run your razor over the same spot in an effort to get that perfect shave. You閳ユ獧e just asking for ingrown hairs if you keep irritating that area with a blade.

If recurrent ingrown hairs are a problem, use of an antiseptic may help prevent ingrown hair.

How do you get rid of red bumps and ingrown hairs from bikini line?

A Dyson vacume cleaner will work wonders

How do you get rid of red bumps and ingrown hairs from bikini line?

The problem is pubic hair is usually curly. If you have naturally curly hair on your head, that makes the problem even worse.

When you pluck the hair out, you are pulling it out below the skin level. When it grows back it tends to grow back curly. It gets caught under the skin and rather than coming out, it simply rolls up under the skin, causing the bump. The irritation of the bump can explain the redness or it could be due to infection.

You really only have three solutions to this.

First, let the hair grow out. Once it gets above the skin line, it will curl outside and you will not get the red bumps. You may need to wear a bigger bikini bottom to cover the hair.

Second, stop waxing!! Use a razor and cut the hair at the skin line. If the hair is above the skin line, it can not get trapped under the skin line and no bumps will form.

Third, see a plastic surgeon about getting laser hair removal. This will cost you quite a bit compared to shaving and hot waxing but once it is done, the hair is gone forever.

How do you get rid of red bumps and ingrown hairs from bikini line?

I would suggest trying to use BUMP PATROL sold at pharmacies and Wal Mart. I know if you shave even though you said you don't like it, you apply this after and it works miracles as I used it after I shaved my groing area for a tattoo, and it worked great. I have no real help for ingrown hair, but it may help. The reason its doing that is because your hair is turning back in to the follicle as it growing back. Give it a try you have nothing to lose, and it's a pretty cheap product that works great! Good luck Have a Very Merry Christmas!

Perhaps waxing is just not for you. Not all methods of bikini-area hair removal will work for everyone.

Have you tried depilatory? I use Sally Henson and it works wonders! No ingrown hairs.

About a week before you shave, put some hair conditioner on the hair down there...not a lot, just enough to rub in and leave on. You can use the conditioner that you have at home....no need to buy anything special.

When you use the depilatory, make sure you shave with the grain and not against it. That's often what causes the bumps in the first place. It should work like a charm.

Good luck!

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

I'm letting my moustache grow and i realized i have an ingrown hair and it hurts mildly. What do i do?

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

Try placing a warm compress on the ingrown hair.

See if that will bring it to a head, and then try to extract it.

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

Pluck it. You'll be fine.

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

put a hot wash cloth on it and see if it brings a white dot if so pop it like it is a zit

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

aight, this sounds painful but if you do this right you will be ok. take a straight needle or a pair of small tweezers and go right to the area and pull the hair out .... it works for me. if you don't remove it the will continue to grow until it resurfaces and leaves craters in\on your face.which will spawn the words ( Craterface )

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

the general practitioner can epilate the ingrdwn hairhairs so as not to cause inflammation and hurt you

Ingrown hairs by shaving?

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.

Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

How do you deal with ingrown hairs when waxing?

Yes I'm a guy asking this question and theres a reason for that and no I'm not gay.

I usually wax my legs once a year and I've had a few problems with ingrown hairs. My legs are all good again but before I get them waxed how do I deal with the future ingrown hair problem?

Laser hair removal is great but it costs 20x more than waxing!!!

How do you deal with ingrown hairs when waxing?

I agree with the other answerer. Exfoliate using a product or just an exfoliating sponge or mits. If you exfoliate throughly before waxing and then AFTER the initial skin irritation has died down following the waxing, that should work.

How do you deal with ingrown hairs when waxing?

Use a scrub to exfoliate after your wax (I like St. Ives Apricot scrub). Then use a moisturizer like Finipril or Tender Skin (the salon where you get waxed should have these or something similar, mine even gives free samples).

Exfoliating after really helps keep the pores open and helps keep the hairs from growing oddly or getting caught under one of the top layers of skin.

How do I stop getting ingrown hairs in my beard?

I am 26 and recently grew a full beard. I really like it, but sometimes I get ingrown hairs that look like pimples on my cheeks and chin. They are large and yellow, like a pimple, with a head, but if I pull the hair out with tweezers, they go away. I have tried different types of facial cleansers for acne and ingrown hairs but nothing seems to work. I guess I could shave; but I don't really want to, especially if somebody has any suggestions of how to prevent this from happening.

How do I stop getting ingrown hairs in my beard?

Try washing your beard, or talking to your doctor about someway of resolving the issue.

How do I stop getting ingrown hairs in my beard?

shave downwards. if you shave upwards, you have a higher chance of getting cuts as well as ingrown hairs. but if you already do shve downwards and you are getting ingrown hairs, you have to make sure you are only shaving in on direction rather than in multiple directions. my friend used to have the same problem and that helped him a lot. try it out and get back to me

How do I stop getting ingrown hairs in my beard?

Use an exfoliator for men. It will unblock the pores and prevent ingrown hairs.

Why do i always get ingrown hairs?

I have ingrown hairs on my stomach and legs. and sometimes they get so huge. i pull the hairs sometimes and that doesnt work. so im wondering if there is a product that can get rid of the ingrown hair. they hurt so much. or maybe a home reamedy.

Why do i always get ingrown hairs?

Apply a warm, damp compress for a couple of minutes to soften the skin. Then use a needle or tweezers and pluck it out. Follow with an antiseptic like hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. There really is no way to stop them...They'll be back, but switching to a haor removal cream or waxing will help. Shaving makes them worse.

Why do i always get ingrown hairs?

always use sharp razors.

Why do i always get ingrown hairs?

wat are ingrown hairs?

Why do i always get ingrown hairs?

Most of the times, the problem is that we are using products containing mineral oil and alcohol and fragrances these all are very damaging for our skin's health.... mineral oil because it is an ingredient that is derivated form petroleum....it will be like using car oil and exposing your self to the sun in fact it is the 2nd worse thing you could do to your skin (1st thing will be the sun) so these will clog your pores ...using fragrances or chemicals or dyes are known irritants and can cause allergic reactions. what i use to shave my legs would be a face wash formulatted without these i have told you about ... it is called Nutrimin-C RE9 Face wash: look for it at the left margin under anti-aging.... I know it is a face wash but honestly it is great and leaves your skin smooth and shinny.... and after that you can put their body lotion fast without waiting for it will not give you a reaction or sting.... http://arbonnepuertorico.myarbonne.com

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Lately, I have had three areas on the left labia of ingrown hairs. I have to shave or I will break out in folliculitus and be broken out everywhere. I try to get the hair the best I can with peroxide and tweezers but still have some pain and cannot seem to make it go away...Any suggestions?

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

use epsom salt. make a paste out of it using water and apply it. It helps draw out the hair. Or you could soak in a hot bath with epsom salts poured in.

good luck!

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Try waxing instead of shaving.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

You probably need to see the doc for antibiotic treatment. Also peroxide is way to harsh to be using on your skin without diluting it.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

have no clue what is going on.... but ingrown hairs usually just have to be left alone.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Please, immediately go to Dermatologist. Sorry !

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

i suggest u stop using peroxide or as this one suggested waxing and just shave. waxing and using tweezers causes hair grow in. just shaving doesn't cause ingrown hair. if u have folliculitus u have to go to doctor and be treated with antibiotics. usually this stuff inside folliculus is stafilokkok infection, if it gets into blood u might have abscess.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

folliculitis happens when bacteria get in the hair follicle. you can prevent it by washing the area and then applying peroxide or a cream with peroxide. also, salicylic acid will help with the ingrown hair. If I were you, I'd shave only every other day. you shouldn't get folliculitis and it'll give your skin a chance to heal so it won't hurt so much.

by the way, be sure to change your razor often because bacteria can grow there too, and you probably shouldn't shave if you have the infection because you could spread it to a bigger area.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Wax it off.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Dont shave, use Nair!

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Use an antibacterial soap after shaving and keep the area clean.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

I'm not sure shaving is the best thing to do .The over use of peroxide is only going to keep the skin irritated. warm compresses to area 3 times a day. loose clothing.Try triple antibiotic ointment.this you can find over the counter.Give the hair time to grow out on it's own if the area becomes too painful or develops cyst, you may have to let a doctor lance them and remove the hairs.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

First let me say that i have never had an ingrown hair on my labia.

i have however, had an ingrown hair in the "downstairs" area. it kind of freaked me out, as i didn't know what it was at first and was about to smother my boyfriend who i thought had given me something, but then through his laughing fit, he informed me that it was an ingrown hair.

I popped mine (first thoroughly cleaning my hands and the area) and then pulled the hair out (it did actually pop like a zit-very weird). you may need to use tweezers, but again MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN AND STERILIZE THEM FIRST!! this does hurt a bit because of the area its in, but i cleaned it again afterwards and i have never gotton one again.

shaving may actually help it since you are in essense exfoliating the skin my shaving off the top layer, but again -CLEAN RAZOR!

as to maintenance and preventative care, my understanding of ingrown hairs is that the hair follicle is blocked or clogged (whether it be from dead skin, dirt, oils, etc.), therefore preventing the hair from coming through. the best way to prevent this is to exfoliate regularly. the area you are getting them in is delicate to say the least, so make sure whatever you use is strong enough to exfoliate, but gentle enough not to irritate or hurt the area. also make sure that you use good, clean razors, changing them regularly, and don't use loofas or sponges or things of that sort which only harbor bacteria.

hope this helps and good luck!!

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

I do have a suggestion. Stop using a razor down there. Buy a women's electric shaver and use it instead. You are less likely to get an infection if you dry shave with an electric shaver, because the bacteria causing the infection need moisture to survive. You have to use shaving gel if you shave with a razor. The shaving gel creates a layer of moisture on your skin. That's how the bacteria enter your skin and cause folliculitus. That's doesn't happen if you use an electric shaver. You will have to remove those ingrown hairs with tweezers. The best product to use to prevent infections like that is Tend Skin lotion.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Stop shaving down there. Just trim it short for a wile till it clears up.

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

Ingrown hairs, embarrasing!?

I shave inbetween my legs, but havent done it in about a week. But today I noticed a sore and realised it was an ingrown hair and seemed really deep, I can't seem to squeeze it out! I don't want to go to my doctor as its too embarrassing and would much rather get it out myself. Any ideas how? It's quite painful too!

Ingrown hairs, embarrasing!?

man, once i had this killer ingrown hair! I could hardly walk cause it rubed on my pants. It hurt to much to umm pop. so i had my boyfriend do it, it was gross, and i cried. Try warm water maybe. Twezzers may work.

Ingrown hairs, embarrasing!?

if you can reach it you can you a safety pin and dig it out and then remove it w/ a pair of tweezers. it's not embarrassing at all. it happens a lot. hey the ones i can't reach i ask my hubby to get. he doesn't mind that area at other times so i say hey can you get this ingrown hair for me. lol. i know tmi but it's true.

Ingrown hairs, embarrasing!?

You're going to have to get your mom or someone to help you. There is no way you can do it yourself.I had a problem a few months ago and it swelled up to the size of an egg, drained for over 3 solid weeks,it was hellish. Please seek help.Have them use a magnifying glass to see it clearly, and start using an electric shaver,it doesn't shave as close as a disposable razor.DO NOT EVER USE A SAFETY PIN!Only ever use a needele,NOT a pin of any kind, and clean it with rubbing alcohol beforehand and wash your hands first.

Help! ingrown hairs?

I have been waxing my bikini area for about a year and i love the results except for one thing, i keep getting these nasty ingrown hairs. they start out like a zit and puss comes out and everything, plus they r leaving little scars too. i get the hair out but how do i stop it from happening in the 1st place?!

Help! ingrown hairs?

I have this problem too but I don't wax, I shave. I've found that exfoliating the area *every day* in the shower helps out a lot. Exfoliate any area down there that you wax.

There are some assorted brands of exfoliators out there...but I use Victoria's Secret "skin silkening body scrub" I think it's called...it's gritty...I don't know if it's sugar or salt in there but whatever it is, it exfoliates pretty good and does not tear up your skin like a traditional exfoliating product might. The grits kind of melt away as you scrub so it's less intense.

There are also assorted products you can buy for the bikini area...ask your salon if you get professional waxes, they should be able to recommend something to avoid the ingrowns.

Help! ingrown hairs?

whats your bikini area?????? NASTY!!!

Help! ingrown hairs?

Stop waxing. Your skin in that area is too sensitive. Try alternative methods, they have some good hair removal lotions that are not as harsh, and there is some new tiny razor that is being advertised on tv. Look out for it.

Worse case of the Ingrown Hairs?

Ok so I know I don't have herpes but I have a lesion that continues to appear on the left labia majora, far out like almost near the fold of my groin. It looks and feels much like an ingrown hair but never resolves. I've even tried to pick out any possibility of an ingrown hair with sterile tweezers, but I can never find one and just seem to make it worse. It will disappear but always returns near the same area and it's bigger than your standard ingrown hair. It doesn't hurt. No puss or scab or anything that would lead me to believe it to be an std of any kind. It's bothersome because it is starting to affect my self esteem. Anyone have a similar experience that could lend some advice? Thanks.

Worse case of the Ingrown Hairs?

Your doctor will be able to best diagnosis this lesion.

Please schedule an appointment immediately. Although, it does not seem to be anything harmful, it never hurts to consult with a professional.

Good luck!

Worse case of the Ingrown Hairs?

The deep ingrown hairs (the kind you can't pull out) will sometimes respond well to aspirin.

Crush an aspirin into a powder and put just enough water to make a paste. Apply this a couple times each day.

If it's not an ingrown hair then it's time to see doc - just to be safe and sure.

Worse case of the Ingrown Hairs?

do you shave? if you do maybe you should try nair once the ingrown hair problem is resolved and and shave/nair a week before or after your period that's when you get the huge ingrown hairs the most

I would go to the gyno.

INgrown hairs!!!!!!?

its SO ANNOYING i exfoliate,i use this oil thats suppose to help but doesnt and i hate it because ill shave and ill have you know it kinda looks like you have blacks heads on your legs yeah but its ingrown hairs ive thought of letting hair grow out and then go get my legs waxed i think that might help what do u think???

INgrown hairs!!!!!!?

probably, but its torure.

INgrown hairs!!!!!!?

yeah you'll have to let it grow out you don't want it all infected and stuff ..then wax..then maybe you can go back to shaving

INgrown hairs!!!!!!?

I hate that too. Maybe try getting it waxed or use Nair or something? lol.

INgrown hairs!!!!!!?

you could try a different brand of razors. or a razor with more blades. it also helps to soak in warm water to soften the hair before shaving.

although if you'd like to try waxing them. it isn't that bad. if you've had your eye brows waxed before, you should know the pain isn't as horrendous as people say. and once it's over with you'll have smoother legs, longer. as long as the person doing the waxing is experienced then it should help with less in grown hairs. good luck :]

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

There is a spot on the back of my leg where I always seem to get an ingrown hair, is there a reason it is always in this location? How do I prevent this?

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

Ingrown hairs are hairs that grow out slightly and then curl back and penetrate the skin. This results in redness, tenderness and swelling at the site of penetration. Ingrown hairs are a fairly common problem. A common cause of ingrown hairs is chronic irritation to the hair shaft and follicle opening. This irritation may be due to frequent and close shaving or friction from tight clothing or belts. People with curly hair tend to have more ingrown hairs than do those with straight hair.

To prevent ingrown hairs, reduce friction and irritation in the affected areas. Shaving tips that may help prevent ingrown hairs include:

Shave hair a little longer than you normally do

Avoid repeated razor strokes over the same area

Shave in the direction of hair growth

Many ingrown hairs will eventually grow out by themselves and don't need treatment. See a dermatologist if you get ingrown hairs all the time or if the pain of an ingrown hair persists for more than a few days. When needed, treatment may include:

Topical antiseptics

Antibiotics, if an infection is present

Permanent hair removal, in stubborn cases

I hope this was beneficial,Good Luck!!! :)

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

that's normal but if you feel if it's not normal go to a dermatologist

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

If the spot you're talking about is inflamed, you have to treat it with anti-biotic ointment like (fucidin) , then to prevent ingrown hair, you have to shave when the skin is wet and the pores are open from the hot steam in the shower, meaning, shave when you have spent enough time in the shower for your pores to open and the skin to get soft. Also, change razors, don't use dull ones and put a good shaving foam, baby oil or conditioner as u shave . After shaving , always moisurize when skin is damp, not wet , not dry but most important thing to do to prevent ingrown hair is to exfoliate your skin at least once a week.

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

Ingrown hairs are caused by the hair growing back into the skin either by curling when on the outside of your skin or curling in the follicle itself. Sometimes people say shaving gives you ingrown hairs but I beg to differ. It's not from shaving but it's from the hair, pubic hair and a man's facial hair is much more coarse and kinky and more easily able to curl under the skin or grow back in. Hairs that are ingrown on an arm or a woman's leg are because the hair was growing out but there was dead skin in the way.

With most ingrown hairs you can prevent them by exfoliating the area. If the red bump from it starts to get bigger, itchy or have a white head, you need to get the hair out otherwise it will become infected.

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

The end of the hair is trapped underneath the surface. It is a place where either your jeans or socks is always rubbing on that area. Not allowing the end of the hair to surface. Try exfoliating before your shave and then again a few days later.

What causes ingrown hairs? How do you get rid of them and prevent them?

Ingrown hair is a condition where the hair curls back or grows sideways into the skin. It may or may not be accompanied by an infection of the hair follicle. It is also typically where ever you sweat or shave. You can try putting carmex chap stick (sounds retarded but it works) as well as antobiotic creams like norspion or what not. Really you should call your DR and ask his thoughts to this but that should prevent and help you. Also if it's on your face try wetting your face and using a toothpaste as a mask until you can't stand it on there then use carmex after washing off the tooth paste and patting dry. I hope this helps.

Have I got ingrown hairs?

Ok so I've been reading up about what ingrown hairs look like, and I think I've got them.. I have small red bumps all down the inner side of my legs below my knees, and they seem to be where hair grows from.

But now I think I have ingrown hairs.. what do I do? Should I avoid shaving for a while, and use hair removal cream instead

(I use it sometimes), or take a break shaving completely?

(I don't really want to because it's summer now, so I don't want to wear tights)

Have I got ingrown hairs?

The best way to get rid of ingrown hairs is to exfoliate your legs on a regular basis. You can even just scrub them with a washcloth if you don't have anything to exfoliate with. I don't think you should stop shaving, just exfoliate more (not on days you do shave or it will really aggravate your skin). I think the hair removal cream would be worse than shaving.

Have I got ingrown hairs?

i'm just guessing, but in the marines when black guys would get in grown hair on there face they'd be okayed to not shave for a few days...after it starts growing out I'd scrub my skin to help it get out...then once it's out real good then use nair or something...a guys 2 cents worth anyway

Have I got ingrown hairs?

hair removal creams like nair would be more beneficial, but you only have ingrown hairs if two hairs are actually growing out of the same spot of skin. And if its just red spots, thats a problem with irirtated skin. probably dryness or a condition called keratosis. (its where protiens build up on the hair bases causing you to have inflamation, bumps, and sometimes itchyness) a remedy for that is a cream called eucerin

How can you make ingrown hairs less red and bumpy?

i have ingrown pubic hairs (nasty) and they are these huge red bumps, how can i make the redness and swelling go away? quickly. i dont mind if the hair are still ingrown, i would just like that area to be smooth.

How can you make ingrown hairs less red and bumpy?

I have heard you could cut a potato slice and put it on the bump with a band-aid covering it and it draw out the puss and bring the hair to the surface. I haven't tried it personally but it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

How can you make ingrown hairs less red and bumpy?

Apply a poultice of clay or potato peel. From http://hairremoval.in

How can you make ingrown hairs less red and bumpy?

get a sewing needle and pull them out... i do that when i get ingrown hairs...its fun for the whole family! well maybe not..but if ya have a lot it'll probably be time consuming..so u might wanna save it for a rainy day...

How can you make ingrown hairs less red and bumpy?

Identify the ingrown hair. Not all bumps on the skin are caused by ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs, often called razor bumps, occur most frequently on the beard area or on other places, such as the legs, where you shave. They typically cause skin irritation that looks and feels like a small pimple or cyst and which may contain pus. You may also be able to see the hair just below the skin.

Apply a warm, moist compress to the area for a few minutes to soften the skin. Thoroughly wet a clean washcloth with very warm water and hold it against the affected area. When the washcloth cools down, run it under warm water again. If you can see the ingrown hair embedded in the skin, this treatment will soften the hair and bring it closer to the surface. If you can't initially see the hair, leave the warm compress on until it rises to the skin's surface. If you apply the compress for ten minutes and you still can't see any sign of hair, the problem is probably something else--see a dermatologist if the problem persists.

Use a sterile needle or tweezers to gently tease the hair out of the skin. The warm compress should have brought the hair to the surface--don't dig for the hair if you can't easily get at it. Don't pluck the hair out completely if you can avoid doing so; just make sure that the ingrown end is out of the skin. It may take a little time to coax the hair out: be patient, and do not cut the skin.

Wash the area around the (formerly) ingrown hair with warm water and a moisturizing soap. Gentle washing helps prevent infection, but soap that dries out the skin and the hair can make it easier for the hair to become ingrown again. The solution: use a moisturizing soap, or apply a separate moisturizer after you apply antiseptic.

Apply an antiseptic. An antiseptic, such as hydrogen peroxide, benzoyl peroxide or rubbing alcohol can be dabbed on the skin with a cotton ball or cotton swab to provide extra protection against infection.

TipsIf you can't see the hair initially, leave the warm, moist compress in place for a while longer.

You can sterilize your tools by boiling or by cleaning with alcohol.

Try loosening your clothing. Next to shaving, tight clothing is the most frequent cause of ingrown hairs, particularly on the legs. Try wearing looser pants, skirts or shorts, and see if the problem goes away.

If you have persistent or widespread ingrown hairs, consider either chemical or laser hair removal.

Try exfoliating regularly. Take a loofah to your skin every time you shower, and you'll not only get rid of flaky dead skin, but also loosen up and prevent ingrown hairs.

Shave correctly to prevent recurrence. Since most ingrown hairs are caused by shaving, the easiest way to prevent them is to grow a beard. Even hairs that are initially ingrown will usually grow out in time. If shaving is a must, however, be sure to do it right. .

Use the right shaving implements. If you're shaving the right way but ingrown hairs persist, try switching up your shaving tools. The longer the hair, the less likely it is to curl back into the skin, so try shaving less closely by using a single-blade razor or electric shaver instead of a multi-blade razor. Also, be sure to moisturize after shaving. Using a moisture-rich aftershave or lotion will soften hairs so they won't easily be able to penetrate the skin.

Unclog your pores. If your ingrown hairs are stuck underneath the skin (as opposed to those which grow out and then grow back in), you probably have a blockage of the hair follicles. Use non-comedogenic shaving cream and aftershave (non-comedogenic products don't clog pores), and try using an exfoliating product or applying an acne cream containing salicylic acid.

Get help. If you have an ingrown hair you can't remove, or if you have a persistent problem with ingrown hairs, see a dermatologist.

Also after you shave USE a ravor bump AID. A popular one is called TEND(buy it off amazon), my personal fav was one I got from Walmart for five dollars for African American MEN. Their hair is coarse and so the formula they use for their beards is stronger(I have curly hair sooo the other razor bump stuff sucked).

ALSO before you shave look at my answer here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

It is the BEST way to shave and make sure you dont get as many ingrowns if any in the first place. Good luck!

Ingrown hairs on your legs and thighs?

Ok when I shave my inner thighs....I don't know if it's because the skin isn't as 'thick' as on the rest of the leg or if it's flabby...but I just get the worst irritation there....knots where hairs have become ingrown. I might can pick the hair out with a pair of tweezers...but it doesn't make the knot go away or anything. What can I do so that this irritation goes away? It's a sight embarassing when I'm wearing shorts or a bathing suit.

Ingrown hairs on your legs and thighs?

Try a product w/ salicylic acid - ex) Tend Skin. It will encourage exfoliation so the ingrown hairs can grow out.

Also, use a body poof w/ shower gel to exfoliate.

Ingrown hairs on your legs and thighs?

Use Draw Out Salve, put it on the ingrown hair then put a bandaid on it, take it off at the end of the day, don't clean the stuff off. Do this again the next day. The ingrown hair will go away, just don't try to pop it! This works SO well. You can get Draw out salve at the store

Ingrown hairs on your legs and thighs?

are you sure they're ingrown hairs and not an infection of the hair follicle itself??

i know when i shave my legs and bikini area, i sometimes get red bumps that i once though were ingrown hairs. usually, they ARE ingrown hairs around my bikini area because the hair is much coarser and curly, so it grows under the skin instead of out of the follicle. but when you get bumps on your inner thighs, usually the hair is very fine in these areas, which wouldn't cause ingrown hairs. instead, the hair follicle itself could be inflammed, infected, or irritated.

possible causes could be rubbing against clothing (jeans or tight pants), you could have an allergic reaction to the shaving cream or lotion you use. it could be razor burn because the razor you use is to much for you skin (i.e. does it have 4 blades, or 2?), or any combination of these things.

i would try switching shaving cream, one for sensitive skin (i used to have the same problem and i thats what i use), try switching razor blades, and keep your legs moisturized with a moisturizer for sensitive skin as well. if none of these things work, i would see a dermatologist. they could definetly tell you what the cause could be, and how to treat it.

good luck

Ingrown hairs-how do i get rid or avoid?

how does one prevent ingrown hairs? i've been using a hair removal machine (for legs) that is almost like waxing but it gave me terrible ingrowns.. suggestions?

Ingrown hairs-how do i get rid or avoid?

When you shower, scrub your legs with a very stiff brush, like a scrub brush you might use for floors. This is also very good for your skin and circulation.

Ingrown hairs-how do i get rid or avoid?

Exfoliate, it helps prevent ingrown hair from get trapped under the skin

I have ingrown pubic hairs and have to shave?

preferably a surgery............

Ingrown hairs....help?!?

i get really bad ingrown hairs anywhere that i shave/wax..i usually take the hair out with a needle but then i have bumps everywhere that seems to last a long time.somethings they dont go away.i have these permanent bumps that stay there and just trap more hairs over time! any suggestions???!!

Ingrown hairs....help?!?

You are shaving too close to the skin. Don't use a double bladed razor. Preferably use an electric razor that has adjustable settings.

You won't get baby smooth but you will save your skin.

Ingrown hairs are caused by the hair being cut too close and it turns in on itself.

Ingrown hairs....help?!?

exfoliate with a sea salt scrub I make mine with any kind of body wash and sea salt from wal-mart its super cheap just make it like a paste and use it in the shower 3 times a week for your body and twice a week on your face. your skin will glow and feel like a babies bottom and I swear no more ingrown hairs.

you get in growns when dead skin cells block the exit path for the hair by exfoliating you remove the dead cells

Ingrown hairs....help?!?

Let the hair grow. Dunno about now, but a while back, if a GI had a problem w/ingrown hairs that was grounds for growing a beard.

Anyhow, since you shave/wax, you're probably a girl, so I guess a beard isn't what you had in mind. Let other bodily hairs grow and use bleaching agents on them. Once they're grown out, use conditioners like you would for your hair to make the hairs less coarse %26amp; kinky. You should be able to shave the hairs once you have them under control with the conditioners.

Ingrown hairs....help?!?

I get them too but they seem to get better if I use a bath puff with a moisturizing shower gel. I like Aveeno because I have sensitive skin. Don't scrub too hard or you'll make your skin more irritated. The moisture in the shower gel will protect your skin and if you're gentle with the bath puff, it should help exfoliate those little bumps.

Hope it works for you.

Waxing and ingrown hairs?

I am scheduled to get a brazillian today. however, when it was time to get my last wax i didnt have time to make an appointment and i usedthe hair removal cream. since i am used to being waxed, after i got rid of the hair with the cream and the hairs started to grow back, many were ingrown :(

I pulled out a few of the ingrown hairs with tweezers, but in a few places it left a small sore, and my question is, the waxer will have to avoid the areas now right? If so tahts fine i can get a strip or something, but u cant wax over broken skin can u? will it ri the skin?

thanks

Waxing and ingrown hairs?

Just explain to the person, who will wax. She or he should take care of it. After using cream, growth is not great for wax unless hair are longer then 1 inches.

Threading and wax combination will work well.

Good luck!

Waxing and ingrown hairs?

you shouldn't wax where there is broken skin because it may irritate and cause infection.

i recommend using TENDSKIN, you can get it from Sephora. It helps with any irriation and preventing ingrown hairs.

My pubic hairs are so ingrown and scared! is there anything i can do without using medical treatment

when i was 12 i shaved my pubic hairs, then they got ingrown and infected so i let the hairs grow back over top of the ingrown scarred ones, now i'm 14 i still have then ingrown hairs and scars they're mostly red, bumpy and infected i dont know what to do about it and i dont wanna walk into a pharmacy and buy some ingrown hair thing, thats also difficult to do because i live in Thueringen Germany where nothing is english so i wouldnt be too sure what i was buying! is there anything i can do to get the red bumps and infections away? maybe even the scars? plz help! i dont want it to look like i have STD!!!!! (i dont)

My pubic hairs are so ingrown and scared! is there anything i can do without using medical treatments? HELP?

Go and buy yourself a stiff, hard loafer. It's a sort of a hard sponge. You can buy them in supermarkets, chemists, health food shops, just about anywhere.

Hope in the shower and soap the loafer up.

Grit your teeth and give the area a really, descent, hard scrub.

It will break the seal of the dead skin over the top of the hairs. And allow for your infections to drain and dry up.

Use the loafer every day until it looks better and doesn't hurt as much.

But really it's been 2 years. They may need to be removed by your Doctor. It's very easy and quick. They just take the top layer of skin off and allow the hair to free itself.

You may also need some anti-biotics.

If you are ever going to shave again you will need to use the loafer.

My pubic hairs are so ingrown and scared! is there anything i can do without using medical treatments? HELP?

See the source below for ingrown hair information.

Wendy V has the right idea.. but I call it a loofah, not a loafer. ;-)

My pubic hairs are so ingrown and scared! is there anything i can do without using medical treatments? HELP?

Hi! Regular Bikini Zone saved my life! Sells for 4-6$ apply twice a day, after 12 hours should feel a difference. It may burn a litle when you apply, let it :)

When I use it right after shaving and for the next 2 days then when hair is growing back also use it and I have 0!!!! ingrown, a miracle as this is a HUGE problem for me.

To buy on eBay a lot of eBayers accept money orders... so maybe this is an option and if you have a credit card you can pay in 2 minutes through PayPal. This stuff is available on eBay and online from their store (bikinizone.com).

I looked for over 8 years for a product against blackheads.

Clarins has an awesome line, for night time you need the toner and oil, its a special oil that dissolves blackheads (for real) and cleans your face overnight of impurities. Black heads are basically a hardened oil mixture that was secreted and oxidized (which makes the outside part black) and since water and oil don't mix no water based product can "clean" your blackheads away, just try say putting certain foundations or makeups on the mirror and if you wipe it with water it smudges all over but put a little baby oil and wipe and tada! it comes off super clean AND dissolves it. This oil also dries up the pimples and the black heads all the way down. I recommend using it for 6-8 weeks then going for a facial (cost maybe 25$) and ask for a facial specializing in black head removal/extraction or you can look it up online, how to steam first and all and yes using a tissue paper not your fingernails really is better, I know cause now I have little brown spots and acne scars from years of picking with nails, tissue forms a little barrier so that the sharp edge of your nails doesn't cut the thin outer cell layer.

As to what soap to use, I'm not sure what to answer, Clarins has it's line, the gommage is excellent, I am addicted to Clarins Bright Plus Gentle Brightening Exfoliator, full size is 50 mL, 1.9Oz., 12-15$ on eBay I think (retails for over 40$ here in Canada), lasts 2 months when used twice a week, use sparingly

You can find it cheaper on eBay as it is a bit pricey in stores. Here is the name: Oil: CLARINS Lotus Face Treatment Oil Combo SKIN 1.4oz/40ml 13-15$ on eBay (retails for 54$ here in Canada at the pharmacy). It lasts forever , you put toner on your face first, when your face is still moist you put 4 drops of oil (one on each finger, you only need a teeny bit) then rub your finger tips together on other hand and after a few secs of rubbing use your finger tips to dab it on top of your moist skin... just be careful not to put more than 4-6 small drops of oil and that your face is wet from toner and to dab it over not rub. Toner: NEW Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris OILY Skin Toner 200mL, found it for 10-12$ on eBay (retails for around 36$ in Canada).

The body shop also has an awesome mattifying moisturizing tea oil face gel.

Also only use non-comedogenic products (These products are less likely to cause blackheads (open comedones) or whiteheads (closed comedones)), it will be normally written in small on the label if they are non-comedogenic.

For extraction you may want to read up on black head extractor, it's a little tool with two loops, one on each side, one for black heads one for white heads. There are many online sites that explain the use.

Steaming your face first will help TREMENDOUSLY. To steam, put very hot water in a bucket or big bowl (you can add herbs, long lists of what is good online), then put your face over the bowl (not too close!) and cover your head with a towel, making a little "tent" and enclosing all the steam inside. Apparently it only takes 4 minutes for pores to open and any time between 4-8 minutes is good. Make sure you thoroughly wash skin before starting the steam . This will allow the pores to open, making the blackheads just slide out with a little pressure. After you have finished extracting, rewash your face (very gently as some pores may have been damaged during extraction), finish off with cold water to close your pores, apply some toner and if you have dry skin then apply a light moisturizer. I wouldn't recommend putting on make-up for 12 hours after extraction, but you could definitely use the Clarins night regime I described earlier.

Be sure to check eBay Stores and Buy it Nows, often even cheaper than the auction, for Clarins products anyways.

For body (not the face) best thing that worked cause I have the same problem (this is going to sound crazy) is ground coffee, preferably dry or you can use old used coffee grinds (not instant) and bring it in the shower. Wet your legs with water then take a pinch full and in circular motions (not straight) rub it around and around for a minute or so. Do this every item you shower and it makes legs soooooooo soft, incredible! Alsomost toners are like 98% rubbing alcohol and water, so after my shower (once my legs are dry) I take rubbing alcohol and apply it liberally to your legs and problem areas (soak it) then let it dry on it's own, should help thin the skin and dry out a bit.

Take care, Felisia
