If you are getting ingrown hairs there are two things you can do.

Exfoliate when you wash your face, to remove dead skin. You can buy facial scrubs with exfoliating stuff in it like crushed walnut shells, sugar or other gritty substances.

Shave with the grain of the hair - you won't get as close a shave but it will reduce the number of ingrown hairs you get. If you want a closer shave without shaving right against the direction of the hair, you can shave perpendicular to the direction of the hair (if your hairs grow up and down, shave side to side.)

If you have a really bad ingrown problem you can also go see a dermatologist.

hi, my bf use to have this problem too. u can see a beautician abt this. but if u want to DIY at home, wat I did for him is to squeeze it out like squeezing a pimple. can be painful, but if u dun remove it frm ur cheeks, it may cause acne to develop.

If this is truly ingrown hairs after shaving, Bump RX made by GiGi is your best product to start with. This is available at Sally Beauty Supply stores nationwide for $8. The website (www.sallybeauty.com) states this is available in stores only and it may be purchased without a professional license.

If this product (or others similar) do not seem to help, it may be time to see a dermatologist. It could be a different condition altogether. I wonder this by your description of "dark spots" and "like a dalmation". Without seeing your face, there is no one on the net that can give you the right advice.

My best advice is to see a dermatologist or at the least an esthetician (salon, day spa and they are licensed) for further consultation/

Usually ingrown hairs can be prevented with proper exfoliation. Basically what happens is that when a pore has build-up in it the hair can't poke out, and grows sideways instead. Using an exfoliating pad or scrub could help you. Steaming your face could also help. For the ones that are already there, be careful not to let them get infected- witch hazel, which is usually next to the rubbing alcohol in the drugstore and is usually under a dollar, is a good mild astringent you can use after you wash your face . And remember to exfoliate, but don't scrub too hard since you don't want to irritate the ones you have right now.

Edit: Also, make sure you change your razor blade regularly and that you use a shaving gel/cream for sensitive skin.

Exfoliate

Use a gentile exfoliant every day to remove built up dead skin cells that can clog the surface of your skin and trap hair, causing it to become ingrown. Exfoliating pads, loofahs, and mild scrubs work well. Look for cleansers that contain Salicylic acid.

Witch Hazel is a fantastic remedy !!! But only apply as needed.

For razor burn and razor bumps, pat the effected area with apple cidar vinegar.

Simply put aloe vera on the effected area. This also helps with razor bumps.

Baby rash cream works wonders. After u shave rub some on.
