What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

i have a lot of ingrown hair on my body and i really want to get rid of it...how can i do that?

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

An ingrown hair is when the follicle gets blocked and the hair cannot push itself through, resulting in a tiny pimple. Although if the bumps you are getting on your arms and legs are red and look like pimples they may in fact be Keratosis. Which is a follicular condition. It is most common on the back and outside of arms as well as legs. It produces keratin which is a natural protein in the skin, and it blocks the follicle which causes the red bumps. It affects 40-50% of adults and 50-80% of adolescence.

There is no cure as of yet,but there are some treatments which may help minimize them. For some people they go away with age, while others have well into adult hood.

Scratching and picking causes them to redden (if they do not already appear red), and in many cases will cause bleeding. Excessive picking can lead to scarring. Wearing clothing that is looser around the affected areas can also help reduce the marks, as constant chafing from clothing (such as tight fitting jeans) is similar to repeatedly scratching the bumps.

Many bumps contain an ingrown hair that has coiled. This is a result of the keratinized skin "capping off" the hair follicle, preventing the hair from exiting. Instead, the hair grows inside the follicle, often encapsulated, and can be removed, much like an ingrown hair, though can lead to scarring.

Your best option is to see a Dermatologist, they might be able to give you more information on what you can do to reduce them. You can try a milk bath and moisturizer, although they are temporary fixes and will not completely remove them.

Hope this helps

What to do about ingrown hairs on my legs...?

DO NOT PICK THEM, DO NOT USE TWEEZERS, DO NOT TOUCH THEM

- This is sooooooooo important, they will get infected if you do

Use an exfoliating shower gel or one of those poofy shower gel foamer ball things every time you shower. They ingrown ones will disappear in time and exfoliating will prevent any more.

Start exfoliating before you shave. Lay a warm, damp washcloth on the area to draw the hair out. Shave DOWNWARD.

Use lotion. You get ingrown hairs when the hair is unable to grow up out of the skin and it curls and starts growing inward. Then they become infected. Keep you skin soft and they can get through easier.

I use to suffer from ingrown hairs as well and it was not fun. Ingrown hairs are a direct result improper shaving, waxing, or tweezing techniques. As a result, your body has produced an inflammatory response, which is the bumps that you see. The infected areas are often itchy and can spread quickly.

I would suggest that you try Beauty 4 Ashes Hair Bump Destroying solution. It worked miracles for me and my husband. It contains no alcohol. So it won't sting your skin. It also is all-natural and smells great. Check out their website is www.discoverb4a.com.
